PhD Research

Electronic switching consumes lots of energy in each Optical-to-Electrical and Electrical-to-Optical conversions. As bandwidth demands increases with time we need a low power scalable solution to switch signals purely in the optical domain.

During my PhD I used the nonlinear properties of silicon-based waveguides to design CMOS-compatible all-optical switches and logic gates
